Essential Oil Safety & Usage
Essential oils are potent, 100% pure botanical extracts — general good-practice guidance:
- For aromatic use or diluted topical use only — always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin.
- Perform a patch test on a small area of skin before first use.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
- Not for internal use unless directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
- If pregnant, nursing, or under medical care, consult a healthcare provider before use.
- Certain oils (citrus oils in particular) can increase skin sensitivity to sunlight — avoid direct sun exposure after topical application.
- Discontinue use and seek medical attention if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.
- Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.
This is general guidance, not a substitute for professional medical advice. Individual product listings may include additional usage notes specific to that oil.
